The Other Boleyn Girl....Cortney Pemberton

In Philippa Gregory’s gripping masterpiece, Mary first comes to court at the age of 14 when she is thrust into anarranged marriage with William Carey, and then is forced instead to court the king. He soon loses interest in her when her undeniably beautiful sister arrives and after she has two of the king's children. A Girl named Catherine and a boy named Henry. So,setting Mary aside he takes Anne as his mistress, but her goals are set way above what he has planned. Anne keeps the king entertained throughout the divorce of his first wife Queen Katherine, who could not produce a son for King Henry. King Henry eventually overtakes the church of england and causes mayhem all over England. During all this time, Mary falls in love after her husband William Carey has died. She met William Stafford, a low social class of a person but loves him anyways and runs away to marry him. They both return to court and hope no one finds out. However, no one marries a king for joy, a lesson Anne learns a bit too late. With her jealous, violenttantrums, aging physique, and inability to produce the heirs she promised, the king begins to forget Anne and another new woman comes into his life. Will Anne survive the whispered rumors when she gives birth to her third, deformed stillborn? Will Mary’s innocent children survive Anne’s green-eyed wrath at their mother’s fertility? Will they die because of it? Will Mary’s secret act of deceit go unnoticed, or will she be forced to pay for her betrayal? This book was amazing. I suggest everyone read it. It is quite long but you get so into it that it doesn't even matter.
